My project will span two semesters and fulfill the requirements of both my engineering capstone and the EDGE Creativity Engagement Center. I will be a member of a team that will design, fabricate, and test a mechanical device in cooperation with China Lake Naval facility. The device must interface with a remote control drone and be capable of lifting an object weighing up to one pound. My role on the team will be that of mechanical engineer. I will be in charge of designing the physical structure of the device in a way that minimizes weight and ensures lifting capability.
